Spanish Creek is legendary for gold and open placer mining claims are always a good find. Advanced Geologic has secured one of the most desirable reaches of the creek with three placer mining claims. Montana de Oro #1, #2 and #3,.

The Montain de Oro #1, #2 and #3 placer mining claims secures a long section of the drainage from the Keddie Resort private property (essentially the BNSF railroad trussel bridge) to the Highway 89/70 bridge. Also secured are a number of side drainages and portions of their reach above Spanish Creek.

The claim attributes are:

  • Excellent camping on the claim
  • Difficult and extended hike to creek; significant hike up or down drainage from there. May have to float equipment to various locations.
  • Local gravels on bedrock. Highly fractured bedrock.
  • Small to huge gravel bars.
  • Multiple remnant terraces with gravels on bedrock.
  • Tree roots & grass clumps, downed trees, logs, moss, etc.
  • Shallow to deep water.
  • Mining level: recreational to advanced.
  • Quiet and safe area; very beautiful.
  • Suitable for those that want the challage of high production mining.
  • Nearest store: Quincy is about eight miles away.

Historically, Spanish Creek was mined very heavily, but further review of the reports tells that only certain reaches were heavily mined. Others were not for various reasons, such as claim disputes, water too deep, poor access, gravels too thick, etc. Local residents say this stretch still contains considerable amount of gold and many a person has eyed this with dreams of big gold.

This offer is for the set of three claims or Montana de Oro #1 can be purchased separately as described above. Please review the photos and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We will be putting up more information shortly.
